How to copy and paste emojis

Emoji on EmojiDB are ordinary text. You are not downloading an image file. When you copy a card, your device stores a Unicode character (or a short sequence of characters) on the clipboard, the same way it stores a word you copied from an email.

On a phone

Open any collection — for a quick start try copy-paste emojis or heart emojis. Scroll until you see the board of cards. Tap the card you want. You should see a brief Copied label. Switch to WhatsApp, Instagram, Messages, or another app, tap into the text field, and choose Paste.

If Paste is missing, the other app may have taken focus before the clipboard updated. Go back, tap the card once more, then return to the field. You do not need to allow camera, contacts, or notifications for copy to work.

On a desktop or laptop

Click a card, then paste with Ctrl+V (Windows) or Command+V (Mac) into the destination. You can also use the editor at the top of most collection pages: click several cards so they stack in the editor, then use Copy all to put the whole line on the clipboard at once. That is useful for Instagram bios and Discord statuses where you want a short sequence, not a single face.

What “Copied” actually copies

A standard emoji such as 😂 is one Unicode character (sometimes with a variation selector). A kaomoji such as (｡◕‿◕｡) is several punctuation characters in a row. A decorative combo may mix both. All of them paste as text. The artwork you see after pasting is drawn by the app you pasted into, not by EmojiDB.

When you see an empty box or question mark

That is a font gap, not a broken copy. Older operating systems and some web apps do not ship a glyph for every new emoji. Paste a simpler character from the same board, or read why emoji look different by device. Character limits still apply: Instagram bios cap around 150 characters, and stacked decorative Unicode can burn that budget faster than it looks.
